As per a report by Android Police, the OneUI 2.5 update has now added the sound option to the Samsung Motion Photo feature.
Notably, this Motion Photo feature is available on Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra, Z Flip, Note10, Note10+, S10e, S10, S10+, Fold, Note9, S9, S9+, Note8, S8, S8+, S7, and S7 edge.
For the unaware, the Samsung Motion Photo feature allows the users to capture a few moments while capturing an image. The moments are captured until the shutter button is released.
This gives a good option for the users to grab the frame, which is apt according to them. Users also have the option to directly share the Motion Photo with friends and family. You can also share it as a video file.
Moreover, the OneUI 2.5 update was rolled out for eligible Samsung devices and it came with a little surprise. Now users have the option to add music to this motion photo feature.
Though this feature was not mentioned in the changelog, it has been reported by users who have received the update. However, the music can be added from the default Samsung camera app, for obvious reasons.
In fact, Motion Photo gives more context to image capturing as the video recording can be used to take out the exact frame that the users want.
Samsung Motion Photo is available as a single toggle on the top right of the interface
If you have received the OneUI 2.5 update on your Samsung device, then you can toggle this feature by first enabling the Motion Photo feature from the toggle available on the top right of the interface.
According to the report, this feature has been confirmed to be available on the OneUI 2.5 update running on Galaxy S20 Ultra. The feature is missing on devices running OneUI 2.1 though.
So, this confirms that music on the Motion Photo feature is enabled after the OneUI 2.5 update. Though note that the official changelog does not mention this addition to Motion Photo.
As a matter of fact, this feature is now in proximity with the Live Photo feature on iPhones. This allows you to capture a short video. It also lets you add music to that Live Photo.
On top of this, Motion Photos can be directly saved on Google Photos. And it saves the motion photo along with the music. So, you can store your Motion Photos onto the Google Photos without worrying about memory space.
