While on one hand, Samsung is continuing with its rollout of stable Android 11 One UI 3.0 update, Verizon Galaxy Note 10 is now picking up the latest December security patch.
Not only Verizon Galaxy Note 10, but AT&T Galaxy Note 20 and Note 9 series are also picking up a similar December 2020 security update. Samsung has been one of the names that you can trust for receiving regular updates.
If we look back in history, this statement would have been utter nonsense, as Samsung had a terrible reputation in terms of software updates.
The change came in just a few years ago, and Samsung has made brilliant efforts in making its name on being one of the trusted brands in terms of software updates.
Good thing is that carriers like Verizon and AT&T are also following suit with the unlocked variants and delivering the latest December 2020 security patch to the handsets.
Talking about the update, Verizon Galaxy Note 10, Note 10+, and Note 10+ 5G bags the update with build BTL1. Moreover, the AT&T Galaxy Note 20 series (which includes Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra) is picking the update with build CTL2.
AT&T Galaxy Note 9 is getting the update with build FTK2. The changelog is pretty simple, and it mentions that the update bumps the security patch level to December 2020 for all the devices.
December patch for Verizon Galaxy Note 10, AT&T Note 20 & Note 9 Series is arriving via OTA
As usual, the updates have been pushed by the carriers via OTA. Meaning that it will take sometime before hitting all the units on either carrier.
If you have not yet received the updates, then you should probably wait for some time for the OTA to arrive in your region. However, you can also manually check for the December update on your Samsung phone.
And to do that, head over to „Settings.” Then navigate to „System updates.” From there, tap the „Download and install” option. If a new update is available, then you can proceed with downloading and installation of the update on your phone.
Notably, the updates for the AT&T Galaxy Note 20 series (which includes Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra) and AT&T Galaxy Note 9 is still based on Android 10. Users will have to wait for some more time before they can get their hands on the Android 11 based One UI 3.0 update.
Similarly, the December update for the Verizon Galaxy Note 10 series is also based on Android 10. It is expected that the next update these devices receive would be the Android 11 One UI 3.0 stable update.
